Pipe Fitters-Various Shifts

Nexus Resource Solutions are excited to be partnering BAE Systems in their recruitment drive to support the Type 26 Warship programme with Pipe Fitters in the Scotstoun and Govan Shipyards. This programme alone will be running well into 2030’s.

Duties:

·Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, cuni and carbon steel)

·Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend, braze, solder and weld pipes

·Installing utilities aboard ship i.e., sinks, showers, and toilets

Skills and Qualifications:

·Trade papers, e.g., formal apprenticeship (ability to provide papers)

·Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture and installation, and use of associated equipment

·Clear understanding of SHE risks awareness

·Understanding of manufacturing processes

·Comfortable working in confined spaces and or at height

·Safety certification i.e., SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc

·Background in a major construction / manufacturing environment.

Salary and Benefits:

·Dayshift is £34,427 per annum or the equivalent of £17.89ph

·Night Shift and the 3-day weekend shift are paid at a 33% premium. Total salary is £45,787.91 or the equivalent of £23.79ph

·Pension is a 6% contribution with a minimum 4% contributed by the employee

Shift Patterns:

·Night Shift - 33% Rate

·Weekend Shift - 33% Rate

·Day shift - Flat Rate

·Dayshift, Monday – Thursday, 0700 – 1630

·Nightshift, Monday – Thursday, 2030 – 0600

·Weekend Shift, Friday – Sunday, 0700 – 1930

Overtime Pay:

• Mon – Thurs – 1.33 (Time and a 3rd)

• Friday – Time and a half for the first 4 hours, and double time for anything thereafter

• Saturday – Time and a half

• Sunday – Double time
